Cesarean Awareness and VBAC Support in New Jersey

Who We Are

ICAN of NJ is comprised of local chapters of the International Cesarean Awareness Network based in New Jersey.  We are dedicated to providing support to area women are recovering from a c-section, facing a medically necessary c-section or looking for VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean) information.

We provide support and advice to women in the entire state.

NJ is currently experience a cesarean epidemic.  In 2008, 39.4% of all births were surgical.  More and more hospitals are "banning" VBACs which limits birthing choices for women and often forces them into unwanted and unncessary surgery.  All birth advocates who are interested in cesarean awareness and improving birth options for NJ women are most welcome!
